Routine Aquarium Needs
Below you will find some important information about our aquarium services and client maintenance. These tasks will take very little of your time and keep your aquarium looking clean for years to come.
Please Don’t Feed the Fish
Clients will sometimes add food to a fish tank manually. This can be more harmful than helpful.
Too much leftover food causes an imbalance in the chemical composition of the water, increasing bacterial growth, water cloudiness, and algae production.
Our auto fish feeder is set to feed the fish the correct amount of food at the correct frequency for those species. Your service tech will set the timer on each visit.
Please call us if you feel your fish are not being fed properly, or if you have any questions.
Glass Cleaning
We give you an extra algae scraper. Use this tool on the glass 3 times per week to prevent significant algae build-up. Each cleaning should take no more than 5 minutes.
Water Volume Control
Please check the water level in the Seamless Sump® every 2-3 weeks. You may have to add water to account for evaporation.
If you see the water level has dropped below the “MAX FILL” line, we recommend adding some until it’s even with the “MAX FILL” level.
Removing Unwanted Debris
Please use the provided fish net to remove any extra food or dead fish. You may complete this task whenever necessary.
Simply remove and dispose of old food floating in the tank.
If you see a fish has died in your tank, remove it promptly. A dead fish spreads harmful bacteria and makes the other fish sick. After disposing of a dead fish, please give us a call and we’ll discuss the next steps.
